Large media interest for article in Nature Climate Change

Mistra Indigo researcher Dallas Burtraw has, together with several co-authors, been published in Nature Climate Change with an article named “US power plant carbon standards and clean air and health co-benefits”. The article has in part been contributed by Mistra Indigo.

The article, that has received a large interest from media,  present an analysis of how three alternative scenarios for US power plant carbon standards could change fine particulate matter and ozone concentrations in ambient air, and the resulting public health co-benefits.

Depending on implementation, Washington Post explains, the proposals could prevent about 3,500 premature deaths a year in the U.S, mostly from respiratory disease.
